Just east of Downtown, Old Fourth Ward was founded in the early 1800s and is the birthplace of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Both historically significant and hip, “O4W” is one of the best places in the city to enjoy culture and art, outdoor sculpture and murals. A hub for creative businesses and recreation, the neighborhood is home to the restaurants and shopping of Ponce City Market, Krog Street Market, and Whole Foods — each within a few minutes’ walk, or by bicycle or car.

FORTH Atlanta

Fourth Ward Offices – just across the street, the new, 480,000-square-foot office building includes ground-floor retail shops on both N. Angier Ave. and the BeltLine.

BeltLine – a transformation of old rail line pathways, the BeltLine is creating green, car-free transportation corridors. More than 22 miles are now open for walking, running, bicycling— to arts & and culture destinations, parks, food & drink, services, shops and workplaces.

Ponce City Market – the landmark, massive former Sears-Roebuck building is within two blocks; situated on Ponce de Leon Ave. at the BeltLine, it’s chockfull of restaurants, shopping, offices, apartments and the rooftop Skyline Park.

Ponce de Leon Ave. – home to classic Atlanta shopping and nightlife, MARTA stops and connections to the BeltLine, the iconic east-west thoroughfare is named after the Spanish explorer who searched for a fountain of youth. (Ponce de Leon may never have made it to Atlanta, but natural springs discovered here in the 1800s are said to have healing properties.)

Historic Fourth Ward Park – 17 acres of winding pathways—some over water—in the reclaimed, spring-fed Clear Creek Basin. A parking lot in prior decades, it’s now an ecological and engineering highlight of modern Atlanta, with elm and Bald Cypress trees, birdlife, and a modern skatepark.

FORTH Atlanta – a stellar hotel located next door with beautiful rooms, elevated dining, and an array of fitness and wellness amenities. Membership Inquiry
